Scotland’s top squash player, Greg Lobban, added another triumph to his impressive career, capturing his 14th PSA title at the Richardson Wealth Men’s PSA Open in Vancouver.
The Copper-level event saw the tournament’s top seed, overcoming a strong challenge from Mexico’s Leonel Cardenas in a tightly contested four-game final.
Greg came out strong, quickly establishing control over the match and taking the first two games 11-7, 11-6.
However, on the other side of the court, Leonel wasn't about to make things easy. The Mexican brought his trademark resilience into the match, fighting back and winning the third 6-11.
In the fourth game, Greg regrouped. He reasserted his dominance, dictated the pace of play, employing precise strokes and tactical awareness to dismantle Leonel defense, before closing out the match with an emphatic 11-4 final game.
Gregs' latest victory is a testament to his hard work and consistency on the PSA tour. With this win, he adds to his personal tally of titles and sends a message that he remains a formidable force in the squash world.
As the 2024 season continues we would like to congratulate him, wife Donna and 4-month old baby, Scott on this victory.
