Greg Lobban Wins 2025 Budapest Open with Dominant Performance

Karakal sponsored player Greg Lobban has once again proven why he's one of the most consistent and respected players on the PSA Squash Tour, claiming his 16th PSA title at the 2025 Budapest Open.

Played at the City Squash Club in Budapest, the Budapest Open is the second Copper-level event of the 2025/26 PSA World Tour season. Greg, the current Scottish Squash Champion and World No.20, swept through the tournament in imperious form, not dropping a single game en route to the title.

In the final, he faced England’s Patrick Rooney, dispatching him in straight games: 11-6, 11-5, 11-9. It was Greg’s fourth consecutive 3-0 victory of the tournament, highlighting his sharp form and physical dominance on court.

This win adds another impressive chapter to Greg’s career, and marks a significant milestone as it is his first PSA title using the new Karakal Fast Fibre Pro — a racket he helped to develop and recently transitioned to after years of success with other frames in the Karakal range.

"Greg has been a key part of the Karakal family for many years," said Karakal's General Manager Steve Gallienne. "To see him continue to achieve at the highest level, and now with the Fast Fibre Pro in hand, makes this victory extra special for the brand."

"The Fast Fibre Pro is designed for elite players like Greg, combining precision, power, and responsiveness, all while maintaining the lightweight agility Karakal rackets are known for. His smooth transition to the new frame underlines its tour-level performance and reliability"

"With this title, Greg sends a strong message at the start of the new season that he's a player to watch. As always, we're proud to support Greg on and off the court and can't wait to see what the rest of the 2025/26 season holds."
