Share
Today at St George’s Hill Lawn Tennis Club, two Karakal-sponsored athletes will step onto court in pursuit of national titles. Joel Makin and Tesni Murphy both produced strong semi-final performances to book their spots in the finals of the 2025 British National Squash Championships.
Joel Makin: Top Seed Stays on Track
Top seed Joel recovered well from a slow start against England’s Jonah Bryant in his semi-final. After dropping the opening game 6-11, the Welsh No. 1 found his rhythm and controlled the rest of the match, taking the next three games 11-2, 11-5, 11-4.
Currently sitting at a career-high world ranking of No. 4, Joel is aiming for a third British Nationals crown. He will face England’s Nick Wall in what promises to be a competitive final.
Tesni Murphy: Clinical Performance into the Final
Two-time champion Tesni also looked in strong form as she overcame Grace Gear in straight games. With scores of 11-8, 11-9, 11-4, Tesni showed her usual composure and tactical awareness to close out the match efficiently.
The Welsh No. 1 now meets Torrie Malik in the women’s final as she bids for a third national title.
Both Karakal Stars have already delivered high-quality performances this week and will be looking to carry that form into today’s finals.
